A compilation featuring a small selection of some of the many interesting non-male voices on the blossoming field of experimental music in the Nordic countries, working in new collaborations.

“ The overall idea is to release brand new, exciting music that reaches into the future, but also to forge new bonds between non-male artists in the Nordics and Europe, who, due to their minority in the music industry, may feel that they lack colleagues who are similar to themselves due to their gender. Furthermore, it can be a way for audiences and bookers to get to know new voices and inspire to a more diverse programming. At the same time it is a project that wants to document the thriving scene of experimental music and the many non-male voices that for the first time in history are taking more and more space on the music scene.”

2021-2024 SHARE Impro-fest
Organised by Sun Ship and The Community, SHARE Improfest is a festival and workshop for professional European improvising musicians from different countries, running for four days during the Aarhus Jazzfestival.
The musicians are put together in new groups every day, where they practice, improvise, experiment, share and get to know each other. In the evening they present the result of the day's work at concerts part of the Aarhus Jazzfestival, and every day ends with a jamsession open for all musicians in town. The goal is to create new connections between improvisers and artist collectives in Europe, inspire each other and the professional environment in Denmark, as well as bringing high quality avantgarde music to Aarhus. As an audience you are promised unpredictable, heartwarming and completely unique music in a relaxed and inviting setting.
