NEW Release: ‘Of all people...’ coming out on NY-label 577 Records - 11.11.2026
JUMP is a new pan-European trio bringing together three musicians from different generations and backgrounds: British pianist Pat Thomas, Danish saxophonist and composer Maria Dybbroe, and Italian vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Andrea S. Giordano.
The three met in Oslo in August 2021, as the pandemic was finally beginning to loosen its grip. Their first encounter was immediate and symbiotic, making it clear that a new band had taken shape. Since then, JUMP has toured across Europe, developing a shared musical language built on close listening, improvisation and a restless curiosity.
JUMP's music moves freely between avant-garde, experimental electronics, jazz, electro-pop and contemporary classical music. Rather than settling into any one of these territories, the trio uses them as points of departure, creating music that constantly shifts perspective. Piano cascades meet electronics; vocals and clarinet emerge from and disappear into percussive textures; melodic lines form, break apart and return in unexpected shapes.

NEW Release: ‘Øyeblikk’ out on Sonic Transmission Records - 29.05.2026
Danish saxophonist and composer Maria Dybbroe spent
the first two albums with her quintet Caktus refining a
chamber music sound that sits well outside the jazz
mainstream. The third, Øyeblikk expands that sound into a
fifteen-piece collaboration with Norwegian ensemble
OJKOS. The result is a richly layered sound world where intimate textures meet expanded dynamics, allowing both newly
written material and reworked pieces from the band's
repertoire to take on new depth and complexity.
Rather than adhering to traditional big band conventions,
the music explores a more fluid and contemporary
approach. The album moves between fragile, tactile
moments and larger, more expansive passages, with a strong emphasis on timbre, space, and interplay. Across its hour-long duration, Øyeblikk unfolds as a series of shifting musical
environments, where smaller constellations within the ensemble emerge and dissolve, guiding the listener through contrasting moods and atmospheres.
With Øyeblikk, Caktus extends its vision into a larger format without losing its core identity — balancing structure and freedom, intimacy and scale.Øyeblikk by Caktus x OJKOS

SISU: Tomas Nilsson, Bjørn Skansen, Kristoffer Almås
3 percussionist: 9 tom toms, 3 gran kassa, 6 scrub brushes, 3 high frequent wood blocks, 9 pieces of wood, 1 trashy cymbal, 2 stones, tamburim, guiro, chain, 3thai gongs, bows/sticks/mallets
“Sår bar. Den nøgne hud, glat eller ru. Blødt læder. Menneskets membran.
